Hello EMBMX Friends,
               
                The race season is underway and it’s going to be a great year!  Some of you may have noticed that some updates have come slow on our site this year.  The website administrator, the guy I frequently see in the mirror has been the recipient of unbelievable computer problems, especially for someone who previously specialized the computer field.  All of the equipment failures were covered by warranty; however most data was lost permanently. The server for our site has had no problems and is exceptionally reliable.  We do have a server based application that allows users to post pictures and videos without any assistance from us however if problems do arise the option was available to send it to us to have it posted.  Unfortunately the majority of files sent to us were also lost because they were moved from the server for editing to ensure compatibility.  So if you did send files please understand that it was not rejected, it was simply lost.  I do recommend setting up your own account on EMBMX so you can control your own media files, but if problems arise please feel to send or resend the files.

                I do have good information for everyone; although some computers were damaged and media lost we did retain our most important assets, volunteers.  We are fortunate to have a highly dedicated Track Director and many Volunteers who dedicate countless time to the betterment of the Riders, Sport and the Track.  We are having practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and races on the Weekends, weather permitting!  We are still selling season passes, if you are interested please see Paul at the BMX Racing Zone or Lissa at the registration booth.  After practice we often try to tarp the track, if you can stay and help after practice or races it would be greatly appreciated.  Getting the track covered is invaluable if bad weather is approaching, it would be sad to miss a race on a sunny day because it rained the night before.  When I first helped tarp the track my shoes instantly became designated to the cause.  I now bring those shoes along with me every time I go to the track, if you plan on helping tarp it would be a good idea to have an old pair of shoes with you just incase the track is muddy.  Since on the topic of bad weather, please talk to Lissa at the registration booth if you would like a text message letting you know if practice or a race has been delayed / or canceled because of the weather.
